Book Keepers Cottage

Historical Sites and Heritage Locations

Tuena is renowned for the wattle and daub hut known as the Book Keepers Cottage. This is the best example of the numerous wattle and daub buildings in the district.

The Book Keepers Cottage was built in 1861 and was used as a place to tally up gold before being transported to its destination by horse drawn coach and armed escorts.

For directions please see Parsons Store Tuena. Please note that you can only view this building from the outside.
