Bunna Bunoo is a family managed olive grove located on the Paterson River in the Hunter Valley Region of NSW. Like the climate of Southern Italy where their family originated, the hot summers and cool crisp winters of the area are ideal conditions for cultivating olives that produce the finest olive oil.
They harvest their own olives with their De Massi harvester as well as contract harvesting for other growers in country NSW.
At Bunna Bunoo, the olives are harvested and processed within 24 hours. Generations of olive growing and processing results in this unique and superior quality product.
Their olive grove has 3500 trees established.
They grow five varieties of olives. The oil varieties are Frantoio and Correggiola, and their table olives come from Jumbo Kalamata, Kalamata and Manzanillo trees.
They usually harvest between April and June.
They process, bottle, label and pack their olives at the grove, in a new purpose-built facility.
Their olive oil is cold pressed locally, and then returns to them for bottling and labelling at the grove.
Tourist groups are welcome, and tours through the grove can be arranged.
