Welcome to the sensation of an open cockpit flight, an adventure that will redefine your sense of freedom. Try microlight flying, one of the greatest soft adventure experiences you will ever have. Microlight flying is one of the fastest-growing aviation sports in the world. Very safe, hugely exciting, and incredibly spectacular.

Byron Bay Microlights offers you an exciting opportunity to travel as a passenger in a microlight on a long-distance cross-country adventure flight. You are invited to join them on a flying tour to some of the most renowned, picturesque places that Australia has to offer.

They offer a menu of introductory air experience flights and also provide full microlight pilot training courses.

Services

You will fly from the airfield along the main beach to the Lighthouse and back. Being airborne in a two-seater microlight is probably the nearest thing to what the essence of flying might be. It’s not about adrenaline rush but a profound sense of being in another world. Being afloat in three dimensions is, quite simply, life-changing.

Disabled Access

This is the flight for those who just want to find out what flying is about while also seeing Byron Bay. It’s a lovely scenic coastal flight to Cape Byron along Main Beach onto Broken Head. Enjoy the view of Byron Bay and the lighthouse whilst looking out for whales and dolphins.

Disabled Access

This is the best way to see Byron Bay and its surroundings from the air! First they fly over Bangalow and turn to the coastline and Seven Mile Beach. Then they fly over the water along Broken Head, Tallow Beach, Cape Byron with its famous lighthouse and over Main Beach back to Tyagarah.

Disabled Access

This flight will take you all the way to Mount Warning. They will climb to over 5,000 feet to have an elevated view of the rim of the caldera, the Great Dividing Range and the Gold Coast in the distance. On the way back they will fly over Brunswick Heads and then low along the beach back to the airstrip. This is a stunning flight over the hinterland and they recommend this trip for anyone wanting to experience microlight flying.

Disabled Access

These flights are available between June and November during the Humpback whale migration. From above you can clearly see individual whales in small groups, quite often with their calves, and observe their behaviour over a long distance giving you the unforgettable experience seeing them from a different perspective.
