Bredbo

Rural

Bredbo is a quaint rural village located in the Monaro in the heart of Merino Country. Established as a village in 1888, it retains its old world charm and country lifestyle.

Bredbo became a bustling village with several shops servicing local residents and graziers. Gold was also discovered in the area in the late 1800s. Today it is home to a number of historic buildings including Bredbo Inn, the original stagecoach stop on the way to the South Coast or Snowy Mountains and a stop for railway travellers. Walk down to the Bredbo and Murrumbidgee Rivers where you’ll find some perfect spots for fishing or picnicking.
