Chinderah is an historic village that stretches along the wide lower reaches of the Tweed River. Enjoy fishing from the old Barneys Point Bridge, picnics at riverside spots, and boating. The two historic cemeteries contain the graves of original pioneering families and the South Sea Islander immigrants who were used to establish the sugar cane industry in the Tweed. Visit the town’s art gallery, antique shop, cafes and hotel by the river. It is a 45 minute drive to Mount Warning and Lamington National Parks.
