The village of Deepwater is located 42 kilometres north of Glen Innes Highlands. Enjoy bushwalking, fossicking, picnics and scenic drives, or fishing in the popular Deepwater River.
There are three kilometres of open water running northwest from Deepwater Bridge. Murray cod, yellowbelly and rainbow trout can all be found here.

There are five to ten kilometres of open water east of Deepwater Bridge and Railway Bridge. Bush camping is permitted. other spots include 10-mile crossing or hills within 15 kilometres of Deepwater for Murray cod, yellowbelly and rainbow brown trout.

Visit the historic Railway Station. Stay in one of the two local hotels and enjoy the fresh country air.

The annual Deepwater Picnic Race meeting is held every January when the district comes together in the summer weather for a day at the races.
