Murwillumbah

Urban

Murwillumbah is located on the banks of the Tweed River, overlooked by the spectacular Mount Warning.

As the creative and cultural hub of the Tweed Valley, Murwillumbah is a vintage country town. Art deco shopfronts and historic Federation-style buildings house a selection of cafés, restaurants, boutiques, homeware stores and gift shops.

The town is still the centre for Tweed’s thriving farming industries including dairying, sugar cane and banana growing and every Wednesday morning, local growers, producers and providores sell their fresh harvest at the Murwillumbah Farmers’ Markets in the local showgrounds.

For all of these reasons, and many more, Murwillumbah is a great base from which to explore the quaint villages and scenic countryside of the Valley and there is a wide range of accommodation to choose from, including motels, historic pubs, caravan parks, cottages, B and Bs, and backpacker hostels.
