Nimmitabel

Rural

Nimmitabel is a small rural township on the Great Dividing Range. Settled in the 1850s, it was once known as Nimity Bell, a name said to mean the place where many waters start.

You can explore the historic village including Geldmacher House and Mill and St Andrew’s Catholic Church by taking a walk around town.
In 1959 Nimmitabel was used by Warner Brothers as one of the locations for the filming of Jon Cleary’s novel, The Sundowners.
