Oakhampton is a suburb of Maitland and is a beautiful blend of city and country. With a mixture of old and new housing, it is home to the famous Walka Water Works, a popular picnic and recreation area. The historic complex features an old industrial chimney and ornate brickwork dating back to the early 19th century. The is a large lake area, with more than 300 species of birdlife, water sports and walking trails.
