Woomargama

Rural

Woomargama is a picturesque village nestled at the foothills of Woomargama National Park with access to the Upper Murray Region. The village was originally the site of staff from the nearby Woomargama Station, where homes were built for employees of the station. The name Woomargama is derived from the aboriginal work ‘wombariga’, the word for a native cherry found in the area.

The Woomargama National Park is located close to the town and offers many activities such as bush walking, picnics, horse riding, photography, bird watching, four wheel drive trails and motor cycling.
