The site comprises two dormitory style accommodation blocks constructed in the mid-1950s for single employees of the Rum Jungle uranium mine. Each building consists of 6 bedrooms with separate kitchen, dining and ablution facilities. The buildings are nominated ‘Block A’ and ‘Block B’. There is a third building on the site nominated ‘Block C’ but this is of a much later date and is smaller. ‘Block B” is the only heritage listed building.
