You will discover the natural beauty and cultural heritage of tropical Cairns on this half-day tour. An experienced guide will lead you to the highlights of the city and surrounds, travelling in the comfort of a fully air-conditioned vehicle.

Discover Cairns as you relax and enjoy the city’s rich history, glimpses of its cultural heritage and iconic landmarks. Visit St Monica’s Cathedral and the breath-taking stained glass windows, guided tour of the Cairns Museum and discover the unique flora of the tropics on a guided walk through the Botanical Gardens and indulge in a delicious afternoon Devonshire tea. Have your camera at the ready as we visit a spectacular lookout with views over the city of Cairns and the Coral Sea before continuing onto Barron Gorge National Park and Surprise Creek Falls. Take a stroll along the jetty or on the sand on this picture-perfect beach, fringed with coconut trees. Nestled behind the beach is the quiet seaside suburb of Palm Cove, with its’ magnificent paperbark trees.

Visit the Cairns Aquarium, the first public aquarium built in Australia in 18 years, it is home to more than 15,000 specimens and 10 ecosystems.

Start your day with a self-guided tour through the aquarium and explore the ecosystems and habitats of Tropical North Queensland.

Visit the Cairns Turtle Rehabilitation Centre, located at Cairns Aquarium. A not-for-profit, volunteer-run, charitable entity is caring for rescued sea turtles. Guided Turtle Hospital Tours are available.

You will be taken on an exclusive tour of the onsite Turtle Hospital to meet the sea turtles in our care. This educational experience lasts approximately 30 minutes, and 100% of proceeds from the Turtle Hospital tour are utilised for food, medicine, veterinary care and operating costs.

This afternoon you will be met at 12.45 pm at the entrance of the Aquarium by Cairns Discovery Tours to continue your afternoon city sights and surrounds sightseeing tour. The aquarium opens at 10 am. Includes admission, Cairns city sights tour, afternoon tea, includes hotel drop off to your accommodation.
