Pacific Whale Foundation Eco-Adventures Australia (PWFEAA) is dedicated to protecting our ocean and marine life through science and advocacy, and inspiring environmental stewardship.

PWFEAA’s award-winning Hervey Bay’s Ultimate Whale Watch tour is a Tourism Australia Signature Experience and a Best of Queensland experience, and is led by qualified Marine Biologists, providing guests with interpretation of humpback whale behaviours.

Ocean Defender, their 12m RIB vessel, was purpose-built for wildlife and whale watching, offering water-level views and small group tours with a maximum of 38 passengers for an intimate experience.

An Australian, wholly-owned social enterprise company, Pacific Whale Foundation Eco Adventures Australia runs eco tours and a merchandise shop to raise funds for education, conservation and research projects, with regular involvement in school visits, virtual classrooms, community forums and educational conferences, as well as coordinating and managing a series of Clean Up Events.

The only operator in Hervey Bay to have been researching Humpbacks Whales for over three decades, Pacific Whale Foundation Australia’s scientists are responsible for the South Pacific’s longest running photo-identification project and the largest curated database of Humpback Whales in Eastern Australia, having detailed the life histories of over 8,000 individual Humpback Whales.

Hervey Bay Ultimate Whale Watch

This whale watching tour is led by certified marine naturalists who provide expert interpretation of the amazing whale behaviors you’ll encounter. As an exclusive, you’ll also interact with an on-board whale researcher.

Listen to live whale songs with underwater hydrophones and learn the latest whale facts and findings. Drinks, snacks and souvenirs are all available on-board. You’ll cruise in comfort on Hervey Bay’s newest, state of the art vessel the Ocean Defender. Enjoy a fast, smooth ride with panoramic water-level views from forward-facing seats offering plenty of shade. On this small-group tour, there are excellent photo opportunities.
