Natural Attractions

The Tweed River is a popular shore diving location at the southern end of the Gold Coast. While there are a number of site that can be dived in the Tweed River, the best site is the rocky wall adjacent to the harbour near the river mouth. This rocky wall forms a habitat for a wide variety of marine life, including rock cods, moray eels, octopus, cuttlefish, stripeys, globefish, lionfish, crabs, shrimps and also nudibranchs. The Tweed River is also a spot where divers can see muck critters, such as stonefish, pineapplefish, scorpionfish, ghost pipefish and even frogfish. With a maximum depth of 12 metres the Tweed River is a site that all divers can enjoy, but being tidal it is best dived on the high tide for calm water and good visibility.
