Mansfield Station

Historical Sites and Heritage Locations

The former Mansfield Station buildings are well preserved and are home to the Mansfield Historical Society. Adjacent to the station precinct is the Mansfield Visitor Information Centre.

The station is of a traditional timber design, and features many original fixtures including pressed metal interior walls, original doors and timber panels and a full length signal bay window. Original light fittings are also in place inside the station building.

The Mansfield train service ran its last service in 1978. Goods and freight services continued on the line until six months later, when they were also discontinued.

The Great Victorian Rail Trail starts and finishes at the Mansfield Station and the Visitor Information Centre.
