Kimberley Adventure Tours

Adventure and Outdoors Tours

Kimberley Adventure Tours specialises in running small group four-wheel drive camping tours in the Kimberley region between Darwin and Broome.

They have established relationships with local landholders to access private property off-limits to the general public, providing fantastic camping spots, Aboriginal rock art sites and hidden creeks and rivers. So whilst they visit many of the iconic destinations through the Kimberley like the Gibb River Road, Purnululu National Park and El Questro, what sets them apart is their access to these other unique areas. Feedback received often refers to these places as highlights of the trip.

The tours are of an adventurous nature and suitable for travellers who are active and enjoy the outdoors. Activities include hiking, swimming and exploring in remote areas.

Camping style is traditional bush camping, with a campfire and you will often sleep out under the stars. Many of their campsites are private and unique to the Kimberley Adventure Tour and are located on cattle stations and Aboriginal land. Campsites will often be by creeks and one campsite is even located on an island.

Simply make your way to Broome and they will do the rest.

They supply you with a modern 4WD vehicle set up for touring the rugged Kimberley that you drive.

They start the Kimberley Camping Tour with 4WD instruction on the use of the vehicle and teach you about driving on dirt roads crossing rivers and more.

In total they will have up to five vehicles travelling at the same time, each vehicle is in constant contact with a lead vehicle via UHF radio.

The lead vehicle is driven by the head guide who will not only take you to lots of secret and unknown spots in the vehicle but will also guide you on walks and hikes, except ancient art sites, swimming in waterfalls and through gorges and lots of adventure.

The head guide is also assisted by a tour host, the tour host is responsible for supplying and cooking the camp food.

Each night the group will camp together, sometimes in campgrounds but often in beautiful wilderness areas that you have to yourselves.

At every camp, they have a hot shower and toilet, even at the remote wilderness camps.
