Acton’s history dates back to the early traditional custodians of the Canberra region. Following the arrival of Commonwealth surveyors in 1909, Acton Settlement became Canberra’s first suburb. It remained the administrative and social centre for the next forty years. Acton is now a thriving community with a wealth of attractions and activities, breathtaking Canberra vistas and scenic walking trails.
