Note: The Australian National Botanic Gardens have partial closures due to the hail storm. Only the lower gardens are accessible to visitors.
Visiting the Australian National Botanic Gardens gives you the chance to explore around one fifth of Australia’s diverse and spectacular flora in Canberra’s bush land setting.
With over 4,300 plant species set on 35 hectares, the Australian National Botanic Gardens is the only place in the world you will see this diversity of Australian native plants in one location.
Currently due to COVID-19 restrictions, Flora Explorer Tours and Guided Walks are not available.
The Gardens is currently open our usual hours from 8.30 am – 5.00 pm with some areas closed to maintain social distancing requirements.

The Gardens Flora Explorer tours will remain out of operation until further notice but the Gardens free guided walks will continue daily at 11.00am and 2.00pm.
Sit back, relax and enjoy a 45-minute guided journey and discover some of the Australian National Botanic Gardens’ highlights. This is your chance to see the Gardens like you may have never seen them before!
Tickets can be purchased from the Botanical Bookshop – located in the Gardens’ Visitor Centre.
