National Capital Exhibition

Galleries, Museums and Collections Landmarks and Buildings

The National Capital Exhibition tells the story of Australia’s capital city.

Discover what was here before the capital, how the site was chosen and details of the worldwide competition to find the best design for a fully planned National Capital. Don’t miss the scale model of the National Capital, which includes a sound and light show available in 7 languages.

The National Capital Exhibition is also home to ‘Brick By Brick: Build Your Own Capital’, a hands on activity area where students, children or families can build models of landmarks that exist in Canberra, or design for the future, using Lego.
