The Coin Shop will relocate to Canberra Museum and Gallery (CMAG) from 12 February. Mint your very own coin or buy a coin from the Mint’s Coin Shop as a memento or a gift for a loved one.

There will be a special temporary exhibition at CMAG from 19 February – Change: Stories from your pocket. The exhibition will highlight technical innovation to celebration and commemoration, exploring how the coins in your pocket tell the stories of Australia.

Visit The Coin Shop in Civic and enjoy a coffee or light snack at the CMAG Cafe.

A working factory, a Commonwealth Heritage Site and a multi-tourism award-winning cultural attraction. The Mint puts icons of Australia’s cultural heritage directly into each of the hands of its people and visitors. The image on each Australian coin produced by the Mint are conversation starters and history markers; statements on who we are and where we have come from.

Everyone has a coin story to share. Whether it was the first gift from the tooth fairy, the sixpence in the Christmas pudding, the vital ‘head or tails’ decision, or the hours spent collecting and admiring special pieces.
