Alex Asch – CLIMACTERIC assemblages

Canberra based artist Alex Asch brings together found materials to construct provoking landscapes. Anchored by a dominating horizon, the environments inspired by Broken Hill country are expansive and atmospheric. He says, “I continue to explore the constructed landscape, primarily through metal and form ply, moving and shaping pieces into collaged compositions seeking to capture an ever-changing environment. On a recent road trip to Broken Hill I came across the industrial ruins, and enormous piles of tailings that dominate the outskirts of the town”.
