It’s time for the Canberra Bonsai Society Annual Show at the new venue.
The display will feature quality bonsai from CBS members, including some created by local artists currently represented in the National Arboretum, Canberra presenting both traditional and Australian species.
This year there will be a number of local “yamadori” (trees collected from the wild) trees on display.
Demonstrations at 11am and 2pm daily, covering designing and maintaining bonsai.
‘Bonsai Basics’ sessions at 10am and 1pm daily for novice enthusiasts or those thinking of taking up bonsai will provide an introduction to bonsai techniques such as wiring, repotting and root pruning, styling and maintenance.
Plant sales will include starter plants, advanced stock trees and styled bonsai. This is a great opportunity to buy trees which are not available often in Canberra.
Australian made and imported Japanese and Chinese bonsai pots, tools & wire, books will be available.
Visitors will also be able to vote for their favourite bonsai.
