Concert or Performance

16 Nov 2018 to 18 Nov 2018

Set at Mount Majura Solar Farm, amid the ACT’s nation-leading renewable energy sector, Australian Dance Party’s ENERGEIA surveys the generation, use and often waste of the energy around us.

The work invites an immersive audience experience that looks closely at human energy transactions positioning the human at the centre of the renewable and non-renewable energy debate. We ask why are we as individuals and a society energy hungry?

The performance, running entirely on battery, solar and kinetic power, reveals the often untapped resource of the human body in combination with the elements and environs in which we exist.

Contemporary dance and physical theatre by Stephen Gow, Alana Stenning, Olivia Fyfe, Alison Plevey and guest artist Adam Deusien. Sound Design by Andy McMillian (Doppel), Costume by Charne Esterhuizen (MAAK), Dramaturgy by Karla Conway.

Supported by Arts ACT, Impact Group, MG Cultural Program, QL2 Dance, Maxim Accountants, Dionysus, AllInsure and Lorna Sim Photography.
