Exhibition ‘Folding Indigo: Keiko Amenomori-Schmeisser’

Exhibition and Shows

25 Oct 2018 to 15 Dec 2018

Inspired by recent trips to India and Japan, this solo exhibition by textile artist Keiko Amenomori‐Schmeisser will present a new body of work developed in collaboration with an indigo‐dye master in Japan. Amenomori‐Schmeisser’s unique cultural admixture and heritage have resulted in a multi‐layered and evocative creative life that gives her work an imaginative and expressive edge.

Born in Japan, Keiko immigrated to Australia in 1978. She has a degree in Textile Design from the Academy of Fine Arts, Hamburg, Germany, and has exhibited extensively both nationally and internationally, with works in public collections including the National Gallery of Australia, Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory, Parliament House Art Collection, Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe, Hamburg, Germany, and Tokyo Technical Institute, Japan.
