Glass Games: Canberra International Music Festival

Concert or Performance

2 May 2018

The Kingston foreshore Powerhouse building that is now the home of Canberra Glassworks, together with Fitters’ Workshop, belongs to the earliest industrial architecture in the ACT. Now a unique and busy centre of glassblowing activity, the building’s large open spaces, furnaces and workshops form the backdrop for a musical ‘hot shop’. Audiences will have an opportunity to hear and see several festival artists in solo mode alongside glass blowers and their newest creations.

PROGRAM to include

Ned McGowan (b. 1970), ‘Workshop’ for alto recorder and electronics
Benjamin Drury, ‘Stained Glass’ for vibraphone and electronics (WP)
