Looks like music, sounds like painting

Exhibition and Shows

29 Sep 2019 to 20 Oct 2019

Looks like music, sounds like painting is a group exhibition featuring 24 painters. Gallery of small things hosts an annual show in September/October to showcase a visual art form. In 2019, the theme Looks like music, sounds like painting, invites artists to connect with or respond to music via painting in any way. They can consider how music influences them in the studio, either directly or indirectly. The highlight is that all works must be made using a CD cover case as a support or a container for painting. Visitors will experience Canberra’s tiniest gallery transformed with a composition of paintings/textiles. Ruth Waller, former Head of Painting, School of Art + Design at the Australian National University will co-curate with Anne Masters to make this a special showing.
