Rona Green – ‘You remind me of somebody I used to know’

Exhibition and Shows

19 Oct 2019 to 3 Nov 2019

Rona Green’s highly engaging prints, drawings and paintings explore ideas about the nature of individuality. Through the creation of her fanciful cast of hybrid characters Rona captures recognisable human characteristics and attitudes. “It is of particular interest how the body can be used as a vehicle for story by means of transformative devices, especially anthropomorphism and body modification.” Rona has been the recipient of numerous awards including the Geelong Acquisitive Print Award, the Silk Cut Award Grand prize and was a finalist in the 2019 Burnie Print Prize. Her prints are in over fifty national and international collections including the National Gallery of Australia, Art Gallery of South Australia and Artbank.
