The Street becomes a “Cabaret Parisien” with flutiste extraordinaire, Jane Rutter performing French Cabaret, Chansons & Classical Favourites.
The soirée features tributes to the French Baroque, Josephine Baker, and pieces by Piaf, Aznavour, Satie, Poulenc, Ravel, Claude Bolling, Michel Legrand, and Cole Porter.
Accompanied by virtuoso accordionist & jazz pianist, Marcello Maio, Jane performs on five different flutes in this ‘up-close and personal’ evening of great French Music.
Jane Rutter is a Renaissance woman, a fearless classical trailblazer who pioneered the trend of taking fine classical music to the people. Due to her French heritage, when she plays, her flute transcends traditional limits. With 23 solo albums under her belt, she has played from The Sydney Opera House Concert Hall to Sydney’s iconic Tilbury Hotel; From performing with transgender stars Carlotta & Simone Troy, to Baroque recitals at La Sainte Chapelle, Paris. In 2016 Jane was knighted by the French Government for her services to music (Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters).
