Snowy Hydro: 70 years on

Classes, Lessons, Workshops and Talks

18 Oct 2019

Seventy years ago, workers broke ground on the largest infrastructure project in Australia’s history, the Snowy Hydro Electric Scheme – one of the greatest engineering wonders of the modern world. To celebrate the occasion, Parliament House will host a screening of the short film ‘Power from the Snow’ (1955) followed by a panel discussion led by journalist Louise Maher, about Snowy Hydro, the people who worked on it, their memories and its impact 70 years later.
