The Art of Parliament House tour

Classes, Lessons, Workshops and Talks

2 Mar 2019 to 3 Mar 2019

How do you build an art collection to reflect the aspirations of a nation? What happens when another country offers you a gift? Who chooses the artists to paint our highest officeholders?

Join Art Collection Director, Justine van Mourik, for a rare behind-the-scenes tour of the hidden gems and highlights of the remarkable Parliament House Art Collection–including the underground art store. Don’t miss this rare opportunity to get up close and personal with some well-known faces-and discover why everything in the building, from the furniture to the fittings, are also works of art.

Tour participants must bring photo identification and we recommend comfortable walking shoes. This tour is unsuitable for children under five.

Why not pair this exclusive tour with a fabulous High Tea at the Queen’s Terrace Café? The High Tea offers a delicious mix of savoury and sweet delights served with T2 tea or Lonsdale Street Roasters coffee. Highlights include the popular olive-cucumber savoury macaron, and our head chef’s wattle seed fig cream tart.
