Established in the early 1980s, Tang Dynasty Restaurant is Canberra’s first Chinese Fine Dining restaurant. Situated in Canberra’s prime waterfront location, customers get to savour the beautiful waterfront views of Kingston Foreshore with the exotic tastes of traditionally made Chinese dishes, enhanced by excellent customer service, and boutique wines from all around the world. Tang Dynasty is highly regarded for it’s authentic Peking, Cantonese and Szechuan cuisine. Our specialties include Peking Duck, Shantung Lamb, Crispy Shredded Chilli Beef, Beggar Chicken, Seafood Trio in Bird’s Nest and Mermaid’s Tressess. The restaurant is also popular for its all day yum cha banquet, just $27.90 for 10 courses or $29.90 for 12 courses.
Tang Dynasty Restaurant is named thus because its décor is reminiscent of the Art Deco of ancient Tang Dynasty era up to 1920’s Shanghai. Upon entering, customers immediately get the feel of being in ancient China as they are greeted by a pair of life-size tri-coloured pottery horses, iconic symbols of the Tang Dynasty era. This restaurant is ideal for romantic dates, functions, as well as family gatherings.
