Cockatoo Island camping is a world first – a waterfront campsite in the midst of a city. It is a campsite on a national heritage-listed island in the middle of the world’s most beautiful harbour. Cockatoo Island has campsites, camping packages, and glamping packages available for visitors.
Enjoy a barbecue as the sun sets over the water. Sleep under the shadows of dormant cranes and chimneys. Watch the sunrise over the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Glamping is camping with all the hard work done for you, plus a few bonus luxuries. It’s perfect if you’re not an experienced camper but still want to enjoy the freedom camping can offer. With glamping, there’s no need to set up a tent or bedding, just bring your clothes, food, non-alcoholic drinks, and a sense of adventure!
The campground kitchen includes a communal refrigerator, a microwave, ten barbecue areas and a boiling water zip system as well as amenities blocks.
Glamping includes a pre-erected Safari Bow tent (three metres by three metres), waterfront location, two camping beds and mattresses, sheets, bedding, towels, two sun lounges, side table, cushion, and a lantern.

To make your visit as easy as possible, book a Camping Package and your campsite will be set up for you. All you have to bring are your sleeping bags, pillows and a torch. As soon as you arrive, you’re ready to enjoy your stay.
The camping package includes a pre-erected Campmor Hennie Dome tent (2.4 metres by 2.4 metres), two mattresses and two camping chairs. Extra camping mats and chairs can be hired from the Accommodation Office. The tents sleep up to two adults and two small children, or up to three adults.

Cockatoo Island offers one of the world’s great camping experiences. Situated in the heart of the city, the campground offers spectacular views of world-famous Sydney Harbour. All sites are near the water’s edge at the Northern end of Cockatoo Island.
Camping sites includes an unpowered four metre by four metre site, suitable for a maximum of four people. For food preparation, all campers have access to the communal camping kitchen that includes 10 barbecue areas, a refrigerator, microwave, and a boiling water system. You will need to supply your own cooking utensils, cutlery and plates.
