Services

The Coach House is the original 1903 convict brick building that once housed the property’s horses. It has been converted to luxury self-contained accommodation, and is set in its own beautiful gardens with mature oaks, herbs and roses. The Coach House offers luxury linen and toiletries, showcases original artworks, and accommodates up to seven adults in three spacious king bedrooms, all with underfloor heating and luxurious large en suites. Children and wheelchairs can also be catered for.

The former central breezeway is now an extensive lounge and dining area, and there is a separate eat-in kitchen opening out on to a European style alfresco area. Breakfast baskets with local fresh produce are included.

Mona staff are at your service. Please feel free to call them if you would like them to stock the cupboards and fridge, schedule airport transfers, arrange gifts or flowers for a special someone, have a personal assistant on hand, or add any other services to your stay. A personal chef is also available for in-house catering if preferred.

The jewel of Mona Farm, Mona Historic Home is the original convict brick Georgian house with marble surround fireplaces, cedar joinery and oversized rooms. The homestead is over 160 years old, and is listed as part of the heritage township of Braidwood. It is surrounded by exquisite heritage gardens, including the original quadrangle of elm trees planted by Thomas Braidwood-Wilson in the 1830’s, and a beautiful walled garden built for Janet Mackay by her husband, Jock, in 1947. Recently renovated and refurbished with an eclectic mix of antiques and provincial style furniture.

The Home features four king size rooms including master bedroom with ensuite, large study and slow combustion fireplace; a king bedroom with ensuite and lake views; a king bedroom with garden views and shared luxury main bathroom; and a queen bedroom with garden views and shared luxury main bathroom. The house has a powder room, Master-chef style kitchen with dishwasher and microwave, dining room, sitting room, coffee machine, wine cellar (selection of wines available for purchase upon request), open plan lounge, dining, study area with fireplace, Foxtel in all bedrooms and lounge, underfloor heating throughout, heated towel racks in the bathrooms, outdoor dining and seating, and barbecue.

One of Braidwood’s oldest homes, Mona is part of the original holdings granted to Thomas Braidwood Wilson, a medical officer with the British Navy. The western section of the property was resumed to form the town of Braidwood in 1939. The remaining 124 acres is noted for its historically significant buildings including the original stables, coach house, homestead and woolshed.

The complete estate, which includes the Historic Home, Coach House, and Stables is ideal for group bookings where privacy and security are essential.

The Stables is the ideal country retreat for group getaways and family holidays, with luxury self-contained accommodation for up to 10 adults.

A substantial building comprising of two levels, the stables are an important part of the working farm. On the lower level are six stables, tack room, feed room, and day yards. The accommodation section begins in the central foyer, where a staircase leads guests upstairs to a large, open-plan lounge and dining area with a distinct “Private Club” atmosphere, and full size snooker table. There are four large ensuited bedrooms, (two of the bedrooms contain a queen size bed and a king single, and the other two each contain a king size bed). In the central lower foyer is a well-appointed kitchenette with dual-fuel electric and combustion stove.
