The Court House and Police lockup built in 1890.
The Court House is perched on wooded slopes of Hawkesbury sandstone, high above the beautiful Macdonald River and St Albans, only 250 metres from the centre of town. .
The building, originally consisting of a courtroom, police station and lock-up, now offers comfortable overnight and holiday accommodation. The original prisoners’ exercise yard is now a recreational area. The two original cells have been retained as two unique bathrooms. The building is recognised by the National Trust and has a City of Hawkesbury heritage classification.
The house has four bedrooms (three queen and a single bedded room). There is an open fireplace in the formal living and dining rooms, also a wood burner in the old exercise yard (which currently has a table tennis table in it).
There are formal and informal dining rooms – and a full kitchen, plus plenty of outdoor seating options. An amazing historic property in great condition.
