Our newly renovated, stylish beach bungalows provide an escape into nature’s playground with endless deserted white sandy beaches just a short stroll away, eagles soaring overhead as you enjoy your morning coffee and whales breaching on the doorstep as you take in the stunning ocean views. Relax on the bungalow deck, have a dip in the 15m heated pool or lounge under the cabana with soft beats and fairy lights. Wake up to songs of native birds and enjoy fresh eggs for breakfast.

Sugar Beach Ranch is a beachfront sanctuary where you can interact with native animals, experience yoga, meditation retreats, romantic picnics, equestrian therapy or soak up the beach vibes. You can also bring your own horse for a weekend of nourishing beach and bush trail riding.

Sugar Beach Ranch is home to the renowned Surfing Cowboys polo ponies and performance horses. Enjoy a morning sunrise visit to the horses as the world begins to wake up and misty dew settles on the paddocks. Our free range chickens and funny Peking ducks chatter away in the background and if you’re lucky, you may be rewarded with our friendly Mr Peacock showing off his fabulous plumage.

Sugar Beach Ranch was the beloved home of CM Murphy, a music maverick, entrepreneur and visionary. Chris’ life was a colourful journey. He was thrust into the music industry at a young age and achieved great success managing INXS to international stardom and beyond. Sadly, in January 2021, Chris succumbed to a rare form of cancer and passed away at his sanctuary, Sugar Beach Ranch. The Murphy family have decided to open the big white gates at Sugar Beach Ranch and share the beauty which Chris often referred to as ‘natures playground’.

Permeating every element of Sugar Beach Ranch is the indelible memory of CM Murphy: entrepreneur, rock promoter, dreamer, nature’s son, surfing cowboy.

Both Equine and Yoga Assisted learning have proven to be very efficient in supporting clients who suffer from physical pains and discomforts, unhelpful stress and anxiety, low self-esteem, trauma & depression, social-emotional difficulties, and in supporting clients who struggle with creating and maintaining healthy relationships. If you are looking for a getaway with your horse, Sugar Beach Ranch has ample paddock room and access to some of the best beach riding on the east coast. Additional fee for horses.
