Australian Inland Botanic Gardens

Parks and Gardens

Australia’s most unique Botanic Gardens, a prime example of what community spirit can achieve, is on display at the Australian Inland Botanic Gardens (AIBG). The plantings showcase Australian and exotic species, including a rose garden featuring over 1,600 colour co-ordinated bushes.

Visitors can enjoy a tractor-train tour through the gardens every Saturday at 11am or by appointment. Garnpang Homestead is open daily, so relax over coffee or lunch and browse through a selection of handcrafted gifts. On the fourth Saturday of the month is a sumptuous breakfast made by talented volunteers between 8.30am and 11am.

The AIBG has opened a Children’s Garden. It comprises play equipment made by volunteers, including school students, from recycled materials. This is a place to play in a natural environment. There is a cubby house, sand pit and musical instruments. There is no entrance fee, but a donation for the garden’s maintenance is welcome.

Botanica Cafe is open Wednesday, Thursday and Fridays from 10am to 3pm for lovely light lunches, cakes and coffee.
