A visit to Port Macquarie’s Mid North Coast Maritime Museum gives you the opportunity to discover over 100 years of local maritime history.
The Museum consists of two separate buildings which were originally built as Pilot Cottages in 1896. They now house a wonderful and varied collection of memorabilia and artefacts. Also see superbly built scale models of a variety of ships, as well as charts, nautical paintings and an extensive collection of historical maritime photographs.
Approximately a 10 minute walk along William Street from the centre of town, adjacent to Town Beach and historic Flagstaff Hill. Parking available on William Street.
The Museum has two other locations. The Pilot Boat Shed is located at the lower end of Clarence Street on the river’s edge and is open 10am to 2pm daily.
Our third site is the Hibbard Boat Yard and Slipway. At the traffic lights on Hastings River Drive take the Hibbard ferry turn off. Open Wednesday and Saturday 9am to 2pm.
