Newy Rides

Cultural and Theme Tours

Newy Rides assist visitors in discovering the best of Newcastle New South Wales by bike.

Their small group bike tours and take guests to the sights, sounds and tastes of the best Newy has to offer. Newy Rides are a bit different from a typical bike tour company. Firstly, guests ride a custom-painted Newy-styled bicycle inspired by the fabric of our coastal city. Guests feel like they are locals, riding with old friends.

Newy Rides bike tours take guests to the nooks and crannies of town, to the makers, murals, producers, coffee shops and food stops.

With great options to delight foodies, caffeinate coffee lovers, impress art buffs, sun-loving bronze beachgoers and scuff the sneakers of urban explorers, they are confident they will show guests a good time in Newcastle.

You will meet your guide at Nobbys Beach for introductions getting to know each other before the next 3-4 hours of discovery.

You’re exploring our coastal city with a local, as a local! My goal is for you to feel like you’re out with a mate, not following a guide around town.

Newcastle is a safe and bike-friendly city and one of the only cities with Central Business District on the beach!

First, we chat through the tour, get comfortable with your bike getting safety and house keeping out of the way.

At Nobbys Beach, you are going to feel the essence of Newy. Here we take in the sights of the beach, lighthouse and break wall. Photo opportunities aplenty!

From here we will discover the Newcastle Foreshore, popular with both locals and visitors.

Riding along the harbour, we see notable local murals and street art that influence Newcastle’s art scene.

Onwards to one of Newys lesser-known suburbs learning about it’s blue collar history before sampling the best gin in town.

By now we’re hungry. We end at an infamous Newcastle foodie institution in a neighborhood famous for its nightlife, cuisine and checkered history.

The Ride Along Series is a series of one-off, bespoke and infrequent events that allows you to peel back a layer of various Newcastle identities, getting a behind-the-scenes look at how their mind works by showcasing their wares and interacting with you along the way. This is a true ‘Meet-the-Maker’ experience – by bike.

Chefs, artists, musicians, winemakers, producers and entrepreneurs form part of these itineraries, coming along for the ride. The itineraries are curated by Newy Rides but hosted by the makers.

This is the ultimate coffee ride without the super early start and needing to wear lycra! Perfect for those that have just arrived in Newcastle and want to get acquainted with the city, finishing with a coffee in hand.

Starting at the infamous Nobbys Beach, they discover the surrounding area and why this is such an important place in Newcastle’s history. Continuing along the harbour foreshore to check out some of Newcastle’s public art murals, learning a little more of the changing face of the city.

They keep riding, discovering some suburbs off the beaten track before takin’ 5 for a coffee (however you like it) before riding back to Nobbys Beach.
