Parramatta Bike Tours is an eco-tourism social enterprise that reinvests all its profit in supporting the community, especially and in particular youth at risk through employment skills to maintain a community bike library.

They offer bike hire or guided tours around Parramatta and surrounds tailored to you. The company hires community members and trains them to lead tours.

Parramatta Bike Tours partner with the Murama Healing Centre at Sydney Olympic Park and the youth share their indigenous history with guests.

Explore shared paths cycling by the river and along O’Connell st, followed by quiet streets leading into the bushland of Lake Parramatta. Discover places of interest, Lennox Bridge Portal, BankWest stadium, Catholic Cemetery and heritage cottages.

Experience swimming, paddling and walking, meet the local animals or enjoy the picnic shelter, cafe and playgrounds. The Lake Parramatta area consists of different recreational activities that can be done for all families whether it is a physical activity or a family gathering for social interactions. Public transport includes a bus, and the main entrance is opened at 6:30am to 5:30pm and a car park.

During the summer season, enjoy our Pedal & Paddle program, where you can ride down to the river and hop onto a rowboat for a discounted price!

Follow the shared path between Parramatta and Harris Park Stations where signs lead the way under M4, connecting with a cycleway along Abecket creek. This section is a continuous path not requiring the crossing of any of the busy motorways. Turning left at the sports oval path continues into Holroyd Gardens where the old Brick Pit towers form part of the street landscape of housing development. What was once a hole in the ground became a place for leisure and recreation.

Holroyd Gardens is a public park with a wide-open space for specific events such as Australia day. The Public area can be accessed via own car or public transport at Merrylands station.

Parramatta Valley Cycleway follows the river foreshore encountering a number of habitats and wildlife from the mangroves and bushlands. The shared path includes boardwalks and creek crossing, passing restored Heritage buildings before arriving at Rydalmere Ferry wharf for a different return home experience.

Discover the Redbank walking trail where you can experience the cool shade of Toongabbie Creek and surrounding bushland. Doyles Sports ground is the largest sports ground in Parramatta and is accessible from the river cycleway via Elizabeth and Brickfield St. Crossing Victoria Road has never been easier with a marked shared path and the use of a refuge island allowing staged crossing. Here you can discover a green open space perfect for a lunch picnic or casual meet-up with friends.

Jubilee Park is accessible by the shared path along Station Street and Parkes Road, great for beginners and families. The destination has gardens with green leafy foliage providing a space to just sit, and be in the moment. Perfect for a lunch-break picnic or a midday meditation moment.

Wentworth Street nearby is home to two locally-known cafes; a great little escape, especially for coffee lovers. This hidden open space also has bench seating, drinking water and outdoor exercise equipment. For children, there is a play space with a maze and water play.
