Southern Cotton operates a state of the art cotton gin in Whitton, New South Wales, in the Murrumbidgee Irrigation Area.

Southern Cotton, Australia’s newest ginning facility, was built and commissioned in the 2012 season and boasts state of the art technology in quality measurement, cleaning, humidification, processing and data traceability. This technology ensure maximum yield and quality potential of lint is achieved.

From when the bales are brought in, cleaned and packed ready to ship out, Southern Cotton’s specially-built observation walkways allow visitors to witness these stages first-hand in a safe environment. You could also see their two enormous yellow moon buggies in action!

Their gin tours are available at 11am on weekdays during ginning season (April-September) – advanced bookings are encouraged, or by appointment for large groups.
Cost: Gold coin donation per person.
