Australia Day Live at Sydney Opera House

Festivals and Celebrations

26 Jan 2022 Annual Event

As the sun sets on Australia day, the Australia Day Live concert is just getting started on the Sydney Opera House forecourt and broadcast nationally from 7.30 pm AEDT on ABC TV and iview.

Australia Day Live is a fitting finale to our national day. Some of the country’s brightest musical stars will bring to life a host of well-known Aussie smash hit songs, entertaining ticketholders and those enjoying a summer evening around the Circular Quay foreshore. Complemented by choregraphed pyrotechnics and maritime manoeuvres featuring a flotilla of lit vessels, jet skis, fly boarders and a parachute display, the concert finale of a spectacular fireworks and light display will illuminate Sydney’s most iconic landmarks and harbour and showcase Sydney to the world.

Since it began in 2016, Australia Day Live has become much more than an event or concert, and it is a showcase of inspiring stories of new citizens, Aboriginal culture and history and a symbol of community unity. It is about a nation coming together to celebrate our Australian Spirit and our many great achievements.

Australia Day Live at Sydney Opera House is brought to you by the NSW Government through its tourism and major events agency Destination NSW.

More information on ticketing changes, hosts and the performer line-up is coming in mid-January 2022.
