Chocolate Class – Hand Tempering on Marble

In this fun workshop, you’ll learn to do hand tempering on marble (today, most companies use machines to temper their chocolate).

Some of the goodies you’ll be making and devouring include a chocolate slab, chocolate bar and hand-flaked hot chocolate. Every class involves three hand tempers, so you’ll have plenty of opportunity to get some hands-on experience.

You’ll learn about the history and science of chocolate, as well as the botany of the cacao tree. You will get to taste a raw cocoa bean and learn the processing involved in transforming the cocoa bean into delicious chocolate!

Each guest will get a sample bag with one of each item made on the day (and you’ll all cheer with the hot chocolate at the end of the class), as well as a certificate of completion; you’ll also get to eat as you go. This class covers more theory, so if you’re more interested in getting straight into the hands-on component and to make/eat more chocolate, check out their other 1.5 hour-long class instead.

You can even finish your class with a high tea, great for the warmer months (just let us know beforehand so we can prepare accordingly).
