Unfortunately, many ANZAC Day services and events around NSW have been cancelled. The Australian Government and health authorities have announced the cancellation of all non-essential gatherings of more than 500 people outdoors and 100 people indoors to control the spread of the COVID-19 virus. Please check the event website before undertaking any travel.
On this day, in the darkness, before dawn, the ANZACs stormed ashore in a place now known as ANZAC cove.
On this same day, some , many years onwards, Cootamundra will hold it’s annual ANZAC Day Ceremonies, in respect to those fallen before. The day starts with the Dawn Service being held at the Cenotaph. The main Street march starts from the Cootamundra Ex-Serviceman’s Club with the Commemoration Service at the Cenotaph. Breakfast is being held qt the Cootamundra-Ex Servicemans club.
If you are in the Cootamundra area, be sure to show your respect and support, reflect and commemorate those who risked everything.
