International Women’s Day Symposium

For International Women’s Day 2023, Powerhouse celebrates female-led businesses and leaders with a full day of talks and discussions by a range of inspiring women. Topics addressed throughout the day will focus on current issues facing women in leadership and explore ways in which industry and community might best support the current and next generation of leaders.

Hear critical ideas from women in STEM, business, politics, arts and media; and learn from practitioners addressing climate, accessibility, and representation at all stages of working life. Speakers will include women featured in our current exhibition Zampatti Powerhouse — which celebrates the legacy of fashion entrepreneur Carla Zampatti.

The Symposium will include a panel discussion on Women in Leadership hosted by Chief Executive Women featuring Kathryn Fink (SBS), Allegra Spender MP, and Janice Petersen (SBS) as well as a session for young entrepreneurs to pitch their new business ideas to a panel of esteemed judges including Eve Crestani (Ethnic Business Awards).
