Julie Love, ‘Memory’

Memory is not only related to the past, as it is always experienced in the present. It is the gap between ourselves now and the past, through events that happened in between, acts of living, everyday events, moments lost to forgetfulness.

Traditional stories and art objects can be part of the means by which we exchange experiences. These prompt new associations and jolt memories.

Everyday materials can be used to create forms which can be subjectively interpreted. Links to the past are formed, new concepts come to mind, the past has more meaning, energy and content.
