Material Sound brings together six contemporary artists who have created installations that play with the sounds created by different materials – from video footage of the moon, to a robot ping pong machine, to synthesised sounds produced by human energy, this fascinating exhibition is absorbing for children and adults alike.
Curated by Caleb Kelly, Material Sound features newly commissioned work by artists Vicky Browne, Pia van Gelder, Caitlin Franzmann, Peter Blamey, Ross Manning, and Eric Demetriou.
Three of the artists will be holding weekend workshops in April, hands-on childrens and all-ages workshops to delve deeper into the world of electronics, art and unexpected noise machines.
These will be held each Saturday of the NSW school holidays, and are a great idea for parents and kids to do together whilst visiting Albury.
Material Sound continues to 29 April, and is one of six exhibitions currently at MAMA. MAMA is open daily except Good Friday, and entry is free.
