More Than A Cul-de-Sac

Community Event

25 Jan 2020 to 27 Jan 2020

Drought and Fire have battered Braidwood, and they are asking for your help by visiting the town on the January long weekend.

Businesses are the backbone of a small rural town. They offer local employment, support the schools and community based charities, feed the firies and support services, and keep the town’s economy going. They are owned by locals, who are also the volunteers who help fight fires, work at the school fetes and offer support in every area of the community. Many are already planning how they are going to help their neighbours in Batemans Bay and regions, even though they are still fighting to save their own homes and trying to keep their own businesses operating.

They can’t help others though if they are forced to close through lack of business. This weekend you can do that and have fun too – food, art/craft/hobby, antique and fashion/jewellery trails, win a gift basket of Braidwood goodies, wander their markets, tour their heritage buildings, show off your skills in the busking competition and enjoy their activities. It’s a child friendly weekend full of entertainment!

Subject to fire status – safety is their priority.
