Pat Whittingham art exhibition “Toe in the Water” at Van Yello in Thirroul

Exhibition and Shows

‘Toe in the water’

The artist is excited to have this their first opportunity to have a show at Van Yello, in Thirroul.

A place she knows and loves after coming here for eons.
These works are inspired by her return to Sydney and renewed appreciation of its unique beach culture, architecture and memo of past holidays.

Pat wanted to preserve them before they are gone or changed forever.

She is a local artist currently living in Cronulla where she moved in 2018, after living for 10 years in Bellingen, NSW. Previously she lived in Bundeena for 10 years participating on the Art Trail and helping to produce the Art of Living exhibitions.

They have been making art for over fifty years and have exhibited in the UK, WA, PNG, Sydney, Bellingen, Dorrigo and Gladstone, NSW.
Their works span a variety of media, including sculpture, mixed media, painting and drawing.

They have focused on the influences of the beach culture and unique landscapes of this subtropical ocean environment.

The paintings reflect the vast, high, forever blue skies, juxtaposed with the simple architecture, using the contrast of flat solid areas of colour with the repetition of features and patterns in the manmade structures with the ubiquitous subtropical foliage.

All works have a matte finish representative of the graphic style they prefer.
