14 Feb 2016 to 31 Jan 2019
On selected Sundays, visitors may ride in a vintage open-ended “cowboy” carriage. This will be pulled by a Stephenson Tank Engine from 1899 which has been revived for the Museum’s 20 minute return trip (subject to change/operating conditions).
Other operating days (see website) will still see all day rides on the ever popular Steam Tram from the 1890s.
Enjoy the two operating model rooms and explore the beautifully restored locomotives and carriages from past eras.
A World War I Honour Board commemorates local railwaymen who enlisted for the armed services. Read the stories behind these young men’s lives.
Entry prices include Museum entry and steam train or steam tram rides.
