Sydney Thunder Cricket Library Visit – Eagle Vale Library

Classes, Lessons, Workshops and Talks

16 Apr 2019

A fantastic new literacy program has been developed by Campbelltown Library and the Sydney Thunder cricket franchise. This initiative, already operational in various schools, involves cricketers and staff from the Sydney Thunder visiting the library to promote physical activity and literacy with young school children.

This session involves Sydney Thunder players facilitating 20 minutes of fundamental movement skills related to cricket, followed by reading three – four books with the children, with a focus on the enjoyment of reading.

This program is also supported by Cricket NSW and the NSW Department of Health. It is part of Campbelltown Council’s Change4Campbelltown campaign which provides creative approaches that contribute to creating healthy environments that support health and well being of the children and their families living in Campbelltown LGA.

The program is aimed at children between Kindergarten to Year Four.
